I cannot express how thankful I was to have Union One, especially Lindsey Klein as my Claims Rep. Without this short term disability over this last year we would have been financially strapped. Being injured is stressful enough, but dealing with Insurance Companies isn’t always a very seamless or positive experience. Usually you are nothing but a number to them and there is very little interest in the client. Lindsey took special interest and concern for my wellbeing, she treated me with dignity and respect and she made the process and my payments stress free, she always had time to answer my questions and then followed up just to check on how I was doing. She also took point with my Doctors office to make sure that my paperwork was always in on time so there was no delay in my payments. She really deserves a big pay raise. I can not thank Union One or Lindsey enough for everything.
Everything went perfect! Kevin Pfaller did an outstanding job looking after me and my needs. When I returned to work I was unaware that I was due to be paid an for additional number of days. Kevin caught this and made sure that I was paid. He did not close the case until he called me directly and made sure that I had received the check. He is a great asset to both Union One and to the BLET union.
I would recommend Union One to anyone who’s seeking either short term or long term disability insurance. The staff is very knowledgeable and very courteous. They handled my claim promptly. Great Company!
There may just be an off chance my Claim Representative was the champion of the Union One Claims Department or maybe it’s incorporated within their corporate culture, but working with her over the lifecycle of my case was a phenomenal experience. She took the time to keep me informed at all times and ensure and inspire my valuation while I was at a low point in my life and feeling devalued. Most importantly, she blended individual advocacy with professional activity and made me feel like her and Union One had my back.
I have used Union One for disability claims quite a few times now. They make it so easy, explaining everything so I understood and an email to reference. I never have a problem reaching them, and I know that because of them, I don’t have to worry or stress about getting paid while I’m trying to recover from surgery.

Union One is an up-front insurance agent. No bull about claims and paid in a timely manner as long as you stay on top of paperwork between Doctors and Insurance Company. Very easy to work with and great communication. They make you feel comfortable that everything is being done to keep your money flowing and healthy enough to return to work. All I can say is that the Union One staff went up and above to make sure my claim went through without any problems. That said I represent over 200 Brothers and Sisters in Los Angeles and had heard from my members how helpful and informing the staff at Union One were during the claims process. These folks are top notch. I had zero problems from day one until I got back to work. They contacted me not only to get my money fast but also to follow up just in case. I can’t tell you how hard it is making ends meet after a injury because before I got Union One all I had was the retirement board and it pays next to nothing. Do yourself a favor and get your own insurance because you never know what and when something can go wrong.

It’s pretty stressful when you have to miss work and lose your income for a significant amount of time. Without my insurance plan through Union One there’s no way my family would have been able to keep our heads above water with the financial struggles. The worry and uncertainty about the claims process, and how long it would take before I had money coming in again was far greater than the nervousness of having surgery and the recovery process. I’m here to tell you that it was very easy, and very quick compared to the nightmare that I thought it would be. We never missed a beat financially speaking which took a huge burden off of my shoulders and allowed me to rest and recover so that I did not have to rush back to work too soon and hinder the healing process. I was skeptical when I signed up with Union One, just because it’s 2016 and it’s usually a big hassle if and when you ever need to file a claim, with any type of insurance company. You never know if and when you may get injured or sick, but now that I have Union One, and have had to use it, I’m very happy and relieved to know that I’m covered.
I was off work for 7 months. I thank my lucky stars I had Union One and disability insurance in my corner. I could have lost so much. Thank you Union One.
